I have been responsible for the management and programming of the Site Editor from my initial design onwards, and the design and development of additional features and plugins. Parts of the work (from around a year into the project onwards) have been passed on to other developers in the same company from time to time; the management of this process, and of the developers themselves, has then also been my responsibility.

[Site Editor main menu screenshot] A complete web content management system, the Site Editor allows non-technical users to create professional-looking web pages in minutes without knowing HTML and without needing extra software.

Web site content is managed through the web browser itself, with no extra software needed - the Site Editor works with Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Opera, and other major standards-compliant web browsers.

The core of the Site Editor is the page editing system. Pages are organised around the three concepts of templates, areas and elements. For each page, a template is chosen from those available within that portal. This template will have one or more areas within it which are marked as editable; within these areas, any number of elements can be added.

Adding new elements is as simple as clicking the "Insert" tag where you want it to appear, selecting the type of element from the list (eg paragraph, image, table, bulleted list, etc), and filling in the content.

The Site Editor boasts many features as standard: feedback forms, online discussion forums, polls, quizzes, searchable databases, hit counters, site search elements, automatic navigation, user management and delegation, mailing list management, and integrated e-commerce. All of these features include online help, and there is a support system built in to each Site Editor portal so that users can ask questions if they have any problems.
